Sage Accounting doesn't have enough features to replace Sage 50 Professional. Sage Inacct is far too expensive to consider. We need an online version of Sage 50 Professional. Currently, the Remote Data access system makes Sage 50 just useable for a distributed workforce, but we still have lots of problems with messages about someone else processing and we have to wait to login.
Also, there seem to be far more integrations available for online accounting systems, such as Sage Accounting and Xero than there are for Sage 50. What integrations there are, such as AutoEntry, require one computer left on 24/7 to run an app.

As Business Partners here in Malta, we get this question several times from different customers. Remote Data Access is convenient, however not as convenient as cloud due to several reasons.
Setting up companies is time consuming, as we need to first establish the main data pc and sync it to RDA there
Adding companies to remote data users is also time consuming and must be done on a 'per company basis'. This takes long also especially in those setups where clients have 200 companies plus on Sage 50.
Please do consider moving Sage 50 fully to cloud. We are hoping that this RDA is a first stepping stone against migrating Sage 50 customers to a completely cloud solution.

Or just allow users to have their company files accessed remotely from anywhere. And the same for AutoEntry (not to leave the computer on 24/7).
