Testing this; if I receive 1 in October worth £10, 1 in November at £11, and one in December at £12, if I run the Stock valuation and hit calculate at 31/10/2022 I would expect it to calculate at £10 but instead it calculates £33 which is the total. This means if you run Stock Valuation post month end and have received any goods then these goods will be picked up if you rely on the calculate button.
