I've started to use dashboard widgets to share our financial information with company directors. They like the simple. easy-to-read & understand format, and it saves me time running reports in excel and then making pivot tables.
Since there is already a widget for sales invoicing, there could be an option to do the same calculation on the quotation data. This would provide forecast figures as we use the quotation figures as our projection for the upcoming month, and we can plan future cashflow from it.
I guess if the same could be done for purchase orders, you'd have a great financial projection of the next rolling month or two
