Users normally log in around 8AM and back out at 5PM, not logging in again until the next day. Our check data was set to run every evening at around 6PM alongside the backup (we tried doing multiple times a day but the performance hit was far too great).
An error in our data was found to have occurred at around 10AM on 26/11 but the error was not spotted until a user logged in at around 8AM on 27/11. This left us with approximately 7hrs of data entry which had to be removed and re-entered in the same sequence to ensure customers did not receive mismatching document numbers upon re-entry of the data.
Having now looked into how we can prevent this in future, we noticed there is an M365 integration for email notification of backup / check data results, but this is only available when the backup option is selected.
As we are now running the check data hourly, we have turned the backup function off and are using our system backups in it's place, meaning we no longer have the option of check data notifications available to us.
Could this function be altered to be available regardless of whether you have the backup set up or not or alternatively create a similar instant notification function for the check data service, so that rather than wait until the next user logs in (which could be the next morning), an instant notification is made via email / push notification on Sage?
