it would be nice if 3rd party applications hitting a deadlock on Sage Data through SDO, would get an error back stating what data file is locked by which workstation and the date/time of lock creation, instead of just "hanging forever" or until lock is removed.
ideally this could be an option to enable defining a "timeout wait for data locks to be resolved".
our issue is that sometimes these locks just don't get resolved and our application would just "hang forever".
strangely enough, another attempt to same operation from a different process doesn't hang so we wonder if they actually ever get resolved, or at least we'd like to know details on what is causing them to further investigate the specific cases.
