Notification email if Sage detects a data error

We have about 12 users connected to Sage. They login at the start of the day and out at the end of the day like most offices.

We have Sage setup to backup regularly plus scan the data.

With the current system there is no-way of knowing you have data errors even though Sage has detected them.

In a recent case (18/09/24) errors were detected in the 11.30am backup but no-one knew until 3pm in the afternoon when someone restarted their PC and hence had to log back in.

We have had this happen in the last couple of days, I had to roll back around 7 working hours to the last good backup and re-enter all transactions, invoices, sales orders & purchase orders in sequential order to prevent involving customers / suppliers in the issue.

Massive headache and Sage's backup / check data tools are not the best given they are interlinked and the backup service drains too much performance / stops other services being allowed to run, meaning you are essentially limited to running it out of hours once per day to avoid stopping business.

I don't know what the lesser of two evils is, because although I'd lean towards having it run every 3 hours, we have around 8 companies to back up with substantial data on each - meaning the performance hit across the business is too large.

Plus once our accounts need to do anything surrounding VAT, the backup service has to be turned off which is far too risky as it requires manual action to switch it on again.

We have the exact same issue, Sage gets corrupted but stays silent. This means our staff often have to redo a whole days work after restoring from last good backup, this costs money - we need to know sooner.

Would be great if we could use the SDK to check for errors?

Or if the application could check for errors on a more regular basis without needing to be closed/opened?
